We have chosen stallions with pedigrees renowned for their "working cow" ability. With pedigrees like Two Eyed Jack, Poco Pine, Orphan Drift, Poco Bueno, Doc Bar, Hancock, Three Bar, etc, the offspring of these stallions exhibit a great combination of speed, cow sense, good bone and conformation. Descriptions of each stallion are listed below. To see a complete pedigree, click on the stallion's name.

TROUBADOR O SPEAR has been our primary breeding stallion for the last several years since the death of his sire, Poco King Prom, who was named Best Overall Stallion in Box Elder County, UT as a 2-yr-old. Troubador's offspring have exhibited great strength, endurance, color and bone, but best of all they have been proven to be no-nonsense cowhorses. Troubador's mother, Golden Girl Susie, also now deceased, was a favorite of ours and anyone who rode her.

FADED LEVI O-SPEARis a unique dun roan, with AQHA foundation bloodlines such as Whimpy and King as close as 5 generations back. He is a grandson of Poco Pine, the 2nd leading AQHA champion sire. He is one of our top saddle horses and is a pleasure to ride. He is noted for his free and easy movement as well as his smoothness. Also exellent at getting his rider in good roping position and handling a rope. His offspring have been colorful, athletic and extrememly smart.

TC TYREE came straight off of the Pitzer Ranch in Nebraska, where Two Eyed Jack was raised. We added him to our horse program primarily for his bloodlines, which exhibit a blend of the best cow horse blood in America, including Two Eyed Jack, the leading AQHA sire. He has been ridden and has a good disposition as well as excellent skills as a roping horse. TC's colts have proven to be personable, eager to please, extremely quick to learn, sensible, gentle, "cowy" and athletic.

SHOWDOWN TWICE is our youngest stallion, with Two Eyed Jack and Poco Pine, the two leading AQHA sires only a few steps back on his pedigree, his beautiful colts sell fast.

BAR MOUNT J BEE is a stallion new to the Proffit Ranch. He comes from a long line of super cow horses like J B King and Holey Sox (whose owner had a standing bet to the world that no one could match him in calf roping, team roping and cow cutting). Colts out of Bar Mount J Bee are easy to handle, gentle, cowy, easy traveling and have great conformation. Look for his first crop of Proffit colts in 2009.

SPARKLER HANCOCK is a stallion we leased for a few years for his outstanding blue roan color, sturdy structure, good bone, smoothness, gentle nature, and the Hancock bloodline. He is a great all-around stock horse who has been used for all types of fanch work including roping. His offspring are easy to work with and make excellent all-around ranch horses.
EDGE ON JACK born in 2001, is a stallion that we leased for his nice head and unique roan color. We especially liked his impressive pedigree, as he has both Two Eyed Jack and King twice in his background.
